one day we'll take apart the planet--
paint it in our favorite colors,
the colors of christmas.
green for me,
because it's the color of life, and luck,
and poetic lies.
and red for you,
because--
it's
you.
one day we'll tear down the sky,
one day we'll kill the kings,
one day--
we will be dragons.

or stand behind the glass
and watch

i'm painting over my blank skull walls,
painting them with rose bushes and romance
all red and green,
the colors of christmas...
